Tribal Gathering

TRIBES

"Indigenous peoples across the world are the ones keeping the human race from destroying itself and leading earth to a disaster".. Noam Chomsky

Climate crisis and pollution endanger indigenous communities worldwide, even though indigenous peoples contribute the least. Societies forged from the industrial revolution have grown rich at the expense of the planet. Their actions have put indigenous communities at risk due to pollution, climate crisis, and the theft of their land.

Indigenous peoples have lived symbiotically with the planet for thousands of years. Their ancestral knowledge of and connection to the natural world has been recognized as a way to guarantee a healthy environment and cope with climate change.

To listen to representatives of indigenous communities is to confront a different worldview, particularly for those of us who exist in the urban, western world. Yet society seldom listens to them to learn how to best protect our natural resources.

Tribal Gathering offers the unique opportunity to meet with and learn from indigenous cultures from around the world. We offer a platform for debate, education, creativity, sharing of our resources. By learning from our tribal elders, we can become better stewards of the planet and help to build a better world.

"Kids all over the world have to pay for mistakes we didn’t even make. This is our future. We’re the next leaders. This is our future".. Autumn Peltier

ATTENDING INDIGENOUS REPRESENTATIVES WHO TOOK PART AT TG 2024

In the section below, you can learn more about the INDIGENOUS people and MINORITY ETHNIC GROUPS that joined us for the 2024 edition of Tribal Gathering.

Unlike indigenous groups, ethnic minorities have often been displaced from their native territories at some point in history, but still hold today strong ties to their ancestral traditions and rich cultural heritage.

Indigenous and minority ethnic groups all over the world share similar struggles caused by predatory oppression from the dominant western cultures throughout the centuries.

Lets put an end to injustice and work together to ensure environmental and social balance

WELCOME TO THE TRIBAL VILLAGE!

Since 2013 our festival has featured a dedicated section known as Tribal Village. This space of Spirit, Action, Motion and Stillness, Creativity and Learning, sharing and transforming has changed, and evolved itself throughout over a decade of its existence. We are excited to share more about its various areas for your better understanding of the concept behind spaces you'll be calling your home during your 16 day Caribbean adventure!

GeoHaven—a gathering place for tribes to share their talks and presentations. In the evenings, the village comes alive with drum circles, jam sessions, and storytelling around the Sacred fire. On select nights, Tribal Cinema showcases movies and documentaries on related topics, while Art Huts host hands-on workshops in art, cooking, DIY and herbalism.

The Wellness Area offers ice baths, massage, and therapy teepees, providing the opportunity to book a consultation with a Village shaman or Elder or schedule an individual healing session or ceremony. It's important to note that we prioritize sacred space and timing. While we educate and offer talks on topics such as indigenous worldviews, spirituality, and the use of medicinal herbs and entheogens in their sacred traditional practices and rituals, our wellness ceremonies exclusively involve legal and safe substances—potent and sacred in their own right.

Delve deeper into the The Shamanic realm, our spot in the jungle close to the Tribal Village, where sacred rituals and ancestral ceremonies take place, creating a profound connection to the spiritual essence of our gathering.

Our festival embraces the diversity of experiences.

The Red Tent provides a sacred haven where attendees can join a women's circle, engage in different types of talking circles, experience Yoni steam, participate in divination sessions, or attend workshops on topics of intimacy and reproductive health. Alternatively, guests can simply swing by when nothing is scheduled to rest and share on topics that require a more sacred and safe space.

Aside from the numerous workshops and classes offered by over 20 Indigenous tribes and ethnic minorities attending Tribal Gathering, every year a big part of the educational program is provided by attendees willing to share their knowledge and skills with the tribal gathering community. If you wish to contribute to the Tribal Gathering Village, please apply here as a Workshop facilitator.
